Inside CU Quants’ selective student-run trading fund, applications are rigorous, roles are specialized, and every decision moves real money in live markets.
CU Quants is opening applications for Fall Project Teams, offering students hands-on roles in trading, research, risk, and software engineering to build real systems and strategies in live markets.
CU Quants heads into Fall 2025 with new leadership, a Poker Analysis Project blending probability and machine learning, and a redesigned website to power student-driven quantitative research.
Beyond our weekly meetings, CU Quants operates a live quantitative trading fund with real capital deployment. Our fund is organized into specialized teams—Trading, Research, Risk Management, and Engineering—working collaboratively to develop innovative models, create robust strategies, and identify alpha opportunities across diverse markets.
Launched in Spring 2025 with a foundational market-making strategy, we've rapidly scaled our operations to span over 9 markets, implementing sophisticated pricing algorithms and comprehensive risk management frameworks. Our student-led teams have published research on our methodologies and continue to push the boundaries of quantitative finance.
CU Quants is built on shared ownership, intellectual openness, and mutual respect. Every member contributes to shaping the direction of the club. Our Executive Board operates on equal footing, reflecting our belief that leadership should serve the community, not the other way around.
We prioritize diversity in thought, experience, and background. The best ideas come from friction, debate, and contrast, not uniformity. We foster an environment where disagreement is productive and learning is constant.
This is not a club for gatekeeping or hierarchy. It is a space for people who are curious, serious about finance and data, and committed to growing alongside others. Everyone belongs, and everyone contributes.
